| I have always been fascinated by health, nutrition, and keeping my body strong and for the most part, I have been fit, rarely sick, and full of energy and passion. However, this all came to a grinding halt with the birth of my youngest daughter at age 38. Suddenly my body was zapped and I found myself depressed, listless and struggling to get myself going. |

Blood tests revealed that my female hormones were very low and I was in perimenopause, so I was offered birth control pills to regulate my cycle and when those made me feel worse, Prozac. I saw several doctors who unfortunately had the same solutions. I refused to believe this was my only option and instead I launched my own seven year journey into the world of holistic health and wellness, hormones and aging, nutrition and spiritual practices for mind-body health. I have read countless books by the leading pioneers in the field of health, attended seminars and explored the vast tools and wisdom from both western and eastern practices. I formally trained in the field of health and am a certified nutritional consultant. While I have a specialty in women’s health I love working with all individuals who are seeking to take charge of their health and lead vibrant lives.
I resented my perimenopause in the beginning and quite frankly felt sorry for myself. What I’ve come to learn and appreciate however is that midlife is a beautiful transition, an opportunity to reevaluate your life, rid yourself of what no longer serves you and claim the life you’ve dreamed of. The journey into menopause is our human version of a chrysalis-sometimes dark, stretching, growing, isolating, but it’s what is needed to give birth to the juicy, vibrant woman who’s been with you all along. It’s a time to let go of self sacrifice, living your life for others, quieting your truth, and putting yourself last. Midlife offers an opportunity to heal and reclaim your vitality.
